Granat Astilbe

This clumping perennial is right at home where there is dappled light, such as in a woodland garden or beneath shade trees. Striking, feathery plumes of hundreds of florets open carmine red and rise above bronze-green, fernlike foliage. Plant Granat Astilbe en masse for a stunning effect. Excellent as a cut flower—it’s ideal for use in summertime weddings—its compact size and need for shade make it ideal for container gardening. Astilbes attract butterflies and other pollinators to the garden, but are unappetizing to deer and rabbits.
