Here’s a flowering, shade-loving plant with heart-shaped foliage that remains attractive well after the autumnal equinox. Its sprays of small, lilac-purple flowers emerge in spring and attract butterflies. The plant’s dark green leaves turn red in fall to continue the colour show.
