Blue Star Fern

Native to the rain forests of Central and South America, Blue Star features formidable, blue-green fronds that are unlike the segmented, delicate-looking leaves typically found on other ferns. Its broad, somewhat wavy fronds grow 1-2′ long and emerge on thin petioles, or leaf stalks. Fronds do not flower. This low-maintenance houseplant performs best in the medium light levels found in most rooms. Don’t place this plant in south-facing windows, and keep it out of direct sunlight to help prevent leaves from browning. More tolerant of low humidity than most ferns. Soil should be kept moist but not allowed to become soggy. Phlebodium aureum
